Orthodontics for Every Age

Orthodontics for all agesWhen people think of braces, they usually think of teenagers wearing them. While that is an ideal age for many orthodontic solutions, you can achieve a straighter smile at any age. There are many high-quality orthodontic options that we offer at Incredible Smiles.

Does your little one suck their thumb? Though it’s common, you may not realise that their teeth can be pushed out of position from this habit. If they suck their thumb, there’s a good chance they’ll need orthodontics later in life. If this sounds like your child, we can refer you to a specialist to have it addressed.

A preventative approach now can mean your child avoids orthodontic treatment when they are teens. We invite you to come in for a consultation. If we believe that they can benefit from early intervention, we’ll refer them to a potential specialist. If your child is already a patient with us, we will examine them at their regular checkups.

If your preteen or teen has all their adult teeth, they are a candidate for braces. Those under 18 usually get the greatest benefit from traditional braces. The aligner systems that can be removed mean they may not comply with wearing them for the required 22 hours a day. Conventional braces are usually worn for 18-24 months. Teens will have appointments with us every 6-8 weeks to check their progress.

Do you think it’s too late for you to show off a more aligned smile? It’s not! We have two different options for adult orthodontics:

Known around the world, these clear aligners are effective, discreet and gentle. The aligners are removable, so you can easily take them out to eat or brush your teeth.

This orthodontics system focuses on making shifts to your front teeth. With tooth-coloured wires and brackets, they’re nearly invisible. You can get the results you want in just 3-12 months.
