Are Dental Implants Right For You?

The first step in determining if you can have a dental implant is to book a consultation. We’ll examine you to determine if you qualify for treatment. If so, we will refer you to an oral surgeon to have the procedure. Diagnostics such as x-rays will help us determine whether you can have an implant.

Some people do not have adequate bone material in their jaw to receive the implant. If this is the case, we can look into options such as bone grafting to make sure that the implant has the space it needs. We’ll also discuss any medical conditions you might have and whether it’s a contraindication to having a dental implant.

How Long Does It Take To Recover From Dental Implants?

After your dental implant has been placed by a surgeon, the site must heal. This process can take up to a few months. Once the implant has been accepted into the jawbone like the root of a natural tooth, we can place a crown, bridge or denture on it. If you are replacing a single tooth, a crown will be most appropriate. Multiple teeth can be replaced by bridges or dentures.

As we utilise the latest innovative digitally guided technology which allows us to minimise the pain associated with getting dental implants. You may experience some bruising or swelling after the treatment, but this will be temporary until the region recovers. Typically if you only receive one or two implants and did not receive bone or tissue grafts, recovery can take place in as little as 1-2 days.

You may be advised by our team of dentists to eat soft foods and we will probably suggest over-the-counter medications for you such as ibuprofen.

100th Review!!! This clinic is the absolute best clinic I have ever been to. All the dentists and staff here are so lovely and just show so much compassion and care for the patients and their job! I cannot wait until my next visit, I actually look forward to coming to the dentist! My kids absolute love it here as well they definitely cater to a large variety of patients and do so well. Special mention to the lovely receptionist who informed me about the ability to do a review her name was Lexi I think, she is so efficient at her job and has a lovely demeanour!
